Code of Conduct

The code below is a guideline – the list is to help protect club members*, ensure fair treatment of all members and ensure that we stay a friendly, accessible club. By signing the membership form, you agree to abide by these guidelines:

  1. Members should only train within their abilities and levels of fitness, taking care to warm-up adequately prior to participation and warm-down when finished, to protect against personal injury.

  2. When cycling or running members must obey the rules of the public highways, according to relevant laws.

  3. When cycling all members must use a (fastened) helmet, which has a recognised standard of production (ANSI, Snell, kitemark etc.)

  4. When cycling and running at night or in reduced visibility during a club session, members should wear reflective clothing wherever possible.

  5. When swimming members should consider safety at all times and ensure that their behaviour is considerate of others. This includes observing lane etiquette and ensuring that help is given to those in need of assistance.

  6. During swimming sessions, members should not run on the poolside or in the changing room, and should not dive in the pool where depth is less than 1.6 metres.

  7. Members should wear appropriate attire at all times during training sessions, including suitable swimwear in the pool.

  8. Members will abide at all times with the club constitution

  9. Members will entrust the administration and organisation of the club to the owner

  10. Members will encourage and commend fellow members in their training, competition and participation

  11. Members will encourage and commend fellow competitors, whether independent or members of other clubs

  12. Members will raise any significant queries or concerns with the owner in order that they may be addressed on a timely basis

  13. Members will uphold the good name and reputation of Superflytri.

  14. Members will respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social / economic status.

  15. Members will accept the responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.

The club is committed to ensuring that equity is incorporated across all aspects of its development. In doing so it acknowledges and adopts the following Sport England definition of sports equity:

Sports equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society.”
