Erox Window Disk Carbon Race Wheels
When Erox created their window disk people were shocked that a window disk could offer better cross wind results than a normal disk and still be approved for non disk races (Hawaii).
How and why did Erox come to create such a wheel? The answer is simple. Switzerland is hilly and windy and in many races a normal disk offers no advantage because it is either to heavy, or if light not stable enough for courses with lots of turns. That's why Erox created a special disk shaped with holes. The elevation around the holes creates a vacuum. In strong cross wind the holes in the disk helps the rider to keep the bike going in the intended direction.
For the front wheel the rider can select a wheel with either a 50mm or 80mm rim.
